kierina gaston

young woman

Kierina Gaston is a model, actress and artistic fashion designer.  She began modeling in 2000 when she was approached by a photographer to pose for a Perth bridal wear label and hasn’t looked back since. She was always artistically inclined, being a top student in art and drama at school and has a natural ability for creativity. After high school she took on Structural Building studies which did not prove to be very stimulating for her. She went on to study Journalism and Creative Writing before transferring to a Bachelor of Psychology. Kierina is now doing what she enjoys the most; acting and modelling for some of Australia’s most popular magazines and calendars.

Her signature style is a fusion of life experiences, glamour and of resisting blind faith. She is inspired by music, dark humour and self empowerment. Her passion for the arts extends to Acting Studies at NIDA Sydney and Perth Actors Collective. She has appeared in several Queensland TV commercials.

Over the years she has gained great experience being in front of the camera and as a model she has been approached to be a stylist and makeup artist for magazine shoots other than her own.

Rory Mitchell

farmer jones & demonic clown

Rory Mitchell was born in 1962 in a freezing basement flat in Scotland. In 1968, after claiming a new age and identity, he agreed to marry his female cousin under duress. In 1971 he incinerated his bedroom. 1973 marked his acting debut as a Red Indian Chief with a tennis ball fetish.  In 1977 he performed a revue satirising high school teachers. The audience was divided between ecstasy and outrage.  In 1979 he was cast as Sweeney Todd in a Sondheim musical before it was performed anywhere. This venture was abandoned. In 1981 he attended Stirling University and had his first encounter with hypnosis.  In 1982 he caused a fellow student’s room to be exorcised by a local Catholic priest after ‘experiments’.  Between 1983 and 1989 he performed in various theatrical productions at three British universities, culminating in the role of the devil. He subsequently retired from acting.

In the early nineties, he played guitar in the musical outfit ‘Varikose Veins’ . Their debut gig was reviewed in the national music press.  He recorded four alternative rock CDs, including one with his female cousin.  He worked as a hypnotherapist for a couple of years and then in 1997, again (formally) married his female cousin, under duress. In 1998 they moved to Australia and continued to record music.

In 2002 he returned to acting in his first short film. Between 2006 and 2010 he appeared in fifty something short films, four theatrical productions and four feature films. ‘The Potato House’ is Rory’s first appearance as a clown.

Rory has an IQ a point higher than that of Einstein’s, but two points lower than Sharon Stone’s .

mavis

Mavis the Second is a resident at Lilly Pilly Cottage in Gidgegannup. He is the understudy for Mavis the First (pictured); a demon, feral goat rescued from a destiny of Italian casseroles by the director and thrust into a life of stardom. Despite the director’s honourable intentions, Mavis crapped all over the patio and engaged in a clandestine affair with the resident Kelpie. His wild ways were soon tamed and he was taught intermediate racquet skills and method acting. Sadly, due to his fetish for garden plants and unrestrained bowel movements he was sent to live at a petrol station in Cataby with three buxom sheep and never had the chance to perform in front of the camera.  Mavis the Second enjoyed being dragged by the horns onto the film set and will no doubt make a fine addition to his keeper’s rotisserie in the not too distant future.

N.D.McCoobra is an only child, son of Gifford, his father, a fourth generation thespian and Phyllis McCoobra, his mother.  He comes from a long line of single male child thespian families that go far back to his Irish heritage. His great, great grandfather Smalt, who was actually born Smalt Jones-McCoobra in county Cavan in Ireland in 1846 won a Shamrock for his part in the Irish Musical, “My Lepricorn is Dead. Really Dead”. Great, great grandfather Smalt,, was a flamboyant man, legacy of crazy Scots, who came across to Ireland to fight wars against someone in the sixteenth century and decided after meritorious victory, that the journey back to Scotland was too hard, so they stayed, denounced their Scottish citizenship and became Irish. Great, great grandfather Smalt loved green beer, reciting poetry naked in the main street, Irish woman and the free use of lanoline over their naked bodies, but the cold made him irritable, so he made a decision to immigrate, with a woman of his choosing, to America, Land of the Free. But alas, his application for immigration was rejected and he was told that he was too important to the establishment (thespians were few-and-far between in county Cavan) and it was unlikely that he would be able to immigrate before he retired. In repugnance of this decision he married the woman of his choosing, purchased barrels of lanoline and had a son call Patrick.

N.D.McCoobra performed in his first production at His Majesty’s Theatre, Perth in 1970 in a comedy called “Chattanooga Choo Choo”. He was the train. The following year he was the lead in the musical “Puppet on a String,” a tragic tale of  a politician who hung himself. During the seventies he performed burlesque in private quarters, a feat he is not too proud of. Since then he has been writing comedy and consulting to Health Care.
